Mountlake Terrace has gone a perfect 4-0 against Archbishop Murphy recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Hawks will challenge the Wildcats at 4:00 p.m. Mountlake Terrace is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.9 runs per game this season.
Last Friday, Mountlake Terrace came up short against Edmonds-Woodway and fell 7-3.
Mountlake Terrace saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Olivia Brown, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one run.
Meanwhile, Archbishop Murphy came tearing into Friday's match with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.8 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They were the clear victors by a 21-2 margin over the Scots. That 19 run margin sets a new team best for the Wildcats this season.
Carly Madhavan was a standout: she fired off two home runs, four runs, and four RBI while going 5-for-5. Those five hits gave her a new career-high. Maliya Dixon was another key player, going a perfect 4-for-4 with five RBI, three runs, and two doubles.
Archbishop Murphy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .444. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Shorecrest only posted a batting average of .222.
Archbishop Murphy pushed their record up to 9-2 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.3 runs over those games. As for Mountlake Terrace, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-3.
Both Mountlake Terrace and Archbishop Murphy just can't seem to miss. The Hawks have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.5 hits per game. However, it's not like Archbishop Murphy struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 5.1 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
