Baseball Recap: Clovis Comes Up Short

Clovis was the 3-2 winner over Stockdale when they last played one another back in May of 2019, but their luck changed this time around. Clovis fell 11-6 to Stockdale on Tuesday. That's two games in a row now that the Cougars have lost by exactly five runs.

Drake Davis made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Peyton Barsotti, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

This is the second loss in a row for Clovis and nudges their season record down to 4-4. As for Stockdale, they pushed their record up to 7-2 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Clovis Cougars take on Kerman Lions at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Kerman's pitching crew has only allowed two runs per game this season, so Clovis' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Stockdale, they will face off against Notre Dame (SO) at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
