Football Game Preview: Seneca Bobcats vs. Mercyhurst Prep Lakers

The Seneca Bobcats will venture away from home to face off against the Mercyhurst Prep Lakers at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Seneca will be strutting in after a victory while Mercyhurst Prep will be coming in after a loss.

Mercyhurst Prep will be up against a hot Seneca squad: the team just extended their winning streak to four. The Bobcats strolled past Maplewood with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 35-16. The Bobcats pushed the score to 28-8 by the end of the third, a deficit the Tigers cut but never quite recovered from.

Seneca found their leader in sophomore Rylan Harwood, who rushed for 150 yards and a pair of TDs on only 11 carries, and also threw for 97 yards and two touchdowns. Harwood really tore up the turf during one magnificent 70-yard run.

Seneca was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 226 rushing yards. They are 4-1 when they've run for more than 200 yards.

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Mercyhurst Prep's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a hard 41-23 fall against Fort LeBoeuf.

Seneca's record now sits at 6-4. As for Mercyhurst Prep, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-5.

Seneca came up short against Mercyhurst Prep in their previous meeting back in September, falling 16-7. Can the Bobcats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
