Basketball Recap: Mitchell Comes Up Short

Mitchell was the 60-32 winner over Salem when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Mitchell Bluejackets took a hard 64-50 fall against the Salem Lions on Saturday. The Bluejackets' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

Mitchell's loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Salem, their victory ended a nine-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 1-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mitchell and North Knox will compete for holiday cheer at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Salem will take on New Washington in a holiday battle at at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Salem is facing New Washington at the right time seeing as New Washington is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
