Recap: Carnegie Wildcats vs. Riverside Indian Braves
The Carnegie Wildcats's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fourth straight loss. They were dealt a 97-28 defeat at the hands of Riverside Indian. While losing is never fun, Carnegie can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 287th, while Riverside Indian is ranked 28th).
When it comes to explaining why Carnegie lost, one person who can't be blamed is Karlee Tahkofper. Despite the final result, she scored 16 points along with six rebounds. That was a full 57.1% of Carnegie's points, marking the 11th time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Carnegie has been struggling recently, as they've lost nine of their last ten matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season. As for Riverside Indian, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-2.
Carnegie will face off against Gracemont at TBD on Monday. Gracemont is hoping to put an end to an eight-game streak of away losses. As for Riverside Indian, they will head out on the road to face off against Southwest Covenant at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Southwest Covenant has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
