Basketball Recap: South East Takes a Loss

South East has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They took a 52-42 hit to the loss column at the hands of the South Gate Rams on Wednesday. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Jaguars came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 566th, while the Rams are ranked 1200th).

South East's defeat dropped their record down to 15-6. As for South Gate, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-20.

Coming up, South East won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Jordan at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Jordan's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last ten games. South Gate does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
