Basketball Game Preview: Grove City Christian Eagles vs. Delaware Christian Eagles

The Grove City Christian Eagles will challenge the Delaware Christian Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Grove City Christian lost 57-33 to Fairfield Christian Academy on Tuesday. The Eagles haven't had much luck with the Knights recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Delaware Christian, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They blew past Shekinah Christian 56-36 last Monday. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight games by 20 points or more this season.

Grove City Christian better keep an eye on Addy Beard. She was instrumental in Delaware Christian's win, putting up 20 points along with eight rebounds and six steals. Beard is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last nine games she's played. Brooke Huffman was another key player, scoring 15 points.

Delaware Christian pushed their record up to 11-3 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 20.0 points per game. As for Grove City Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-8.

Grove City Christian suffered a grim 46-23 defeat to Delaware Christian in their previous meeting back in December of 2021. Thankfully for Grove City Christian, Katie Neuhart (who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 11 boards) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
