Volleyball Recap: Lexee King Leads a Balanced Effort to Beat Oak Grove

Cordova won the last time they faced Oak Grove and things went their way on Monday too. The Blue Devils were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Tigers. The Blue Devils not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since September 2nd (when they won 3-0).

Cordova never let Oak Grove on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 25-23, 25-16.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Cordova to victory, but perhaps none more so than Lexee King, who had 21 assists and three aces. That's the most assists King has posted over her last six games. Mia Vance was another key player, getting seven aces.

They weren't the only good server: Cordova was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 16 aces. That's the most aces they've managed all season.

Cordova is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 11-7 record this season. As for Oak Grove, they are on a 12-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Coming up, Cordova will square off against Hamilton at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Oak Grove, they will take on Indian Springs at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
