Basketball Recap: Salem Academy Charter Takes a Loss

Salem Academy Charter was the 48-43 winner over Pioneer Charter School of Science when they last played one another back in December of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Salem Academy Charter Navigator took a 55-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pioneer Charter School of Science Panthers.

Pioneer Charter School of Science's win on Thursday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jayden Lainez, who posted 23 points. Another player making a difference was Marcus Tayag, who earned 14 points.

Salem Academy Charter dropped their record down to 3-7 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Pioneer Charter School of Science, their record now sits at 4-5.

Salem Academy Charter will square off against Excel Academy Charter at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Excel Academy Charter is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.9 points per game this season. As for Pioneer Charter School of Science, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 68-41 victory against Community Charter School of Cambridge on the 17th.
