Volleyball Recap: Cimarron-Memorial Has No Trouble Against Eldorado

Cimarron-Memorial not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 2nd (when they won 3-0). They put the hurt on the Eldorado Firehawks with a sharp 3-0 win. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent victory being a 2-0 win on April 5th.

While Cimarron-Memorial won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-15, 25-22.

Daniel Vargas paced Cimarron-Memorial's offense, picking up 19 kills. Vargas got some help from Byron Nguyen and his 29 assists.

The victory made it two in a row for Cimarron-Memorial and bumps their season record up to 20-16. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 6-20 Eldorado and 4-10 Rancho. As for Eldorado, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-20.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cimarron-Memorial will challenge Somerset Sky Pointe at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Eldorado, they will square off against Rancho at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Firehawks are facing the Rams at the right time seeing as the Rams are stuck on an 11-game losing streak.
