Basketball Recap: Kendrick Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Kendrick entered their tilt with Jones County on Saturday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They enjoyed a cozy 70-53 win over the Greyhounds.

Kendrick got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Andrew Spivey out in front who dropped a triple-double with 13 points, ten rebounds, and ten steals. Spivey is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed six or more in each of the last three games he's played. Taven Leonard was another key player, shooting 53% from the field to rack up 18 points and five boards.

Kendrick was working as a unit and finished the game with 19 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive contests.

When it comes to explaining why Jones County lost, don't look at Justin Ray. Despite the final result, he went 8-for-18 en route to 21 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaiden Bond, who posted ten points and four steals.

Kendrick's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Jones County, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Kendrick and Jones County will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next matchups. The next time the Cherokees see the court they'll take on Rutland at 7:30 p.m. on December 2. As for Jones County, their break will end when they face McDonough at 7:30 p.m. on December 2.
