Richards has gone 8-2 against Blue Island Eisenhower recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Bulldogs will face off against the Cardinals at 4:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Richards has three straight wins, Blue Island Eisenhower has nine straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Richards came out on top against Bremen on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run first inning. The Bulldogs were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over the Braves. Considering the Bulldogs have won nine matches by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Blue Island Eisenhower didn't have quite enough to beat Chicago Christian on Friday and fell 3-2.

Bernabe Astorga was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

Richards' victory bumped their record up to 20-6. As for Blue Island Eisenhower, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-20.

Everything went Richards' way against Blue Island Eisenhower when the teams last played back in May of 2024, as Richards made off with an 11-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bulldogs since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
