Recap: Wylie East Raiders vs. Garland Owls
The Wylie East Raiders won the last time they faced the Garland Owls, and things went their way on Friday too. Wylie East came out on top against Garland by a score of 56-48. Given Wylie East's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 209th, while Garland is ranked 504th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Garland lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jaierick Moore jr, who scored nine points along with six rebounds and three steals. Musa Ndow was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with two steals.
Wylie East has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season. As for Garland, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-8.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wylie East will take on North Garland at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday. North Garland is hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses. As for Garland, they will be playing at home against Naaman Forest at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Naaman Forest will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
