Baseball Game Preview: Shoemaker Wolves vs. Harker Heights Knights

For the second straight game, Shoemaker will face off against Harker Heights. The Wolves will head out to face off against the Knights at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Shoemaker took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They walked away with a 5-1 victory over Harker Heights.

Damian Montanez-Figueroa made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed six innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. He is becoming a predictor of Shoemaker's success: when he allows at most one earned run the team is 6-1 (and 4-9-2 when he doesn't). Montanez-Figueroa was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

In other batting news, Orville De Jesus-Moreno was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one triple and two RBI. That triple marked the first that he hit this season. Sebastian Marquez was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

Harker Heights' loss dropped their record down to 14-6-1. As for Shoemaker, the win got them back to even at 10-10-2.
