Recap: Denver Jewish Day Tigers vs. Front Range Christian Falcons
The Denver Jewish Day Tigers waltzed into their match Tuesday with eight straight wins dating back to last season but they left with nine. They claimed a resounding 59-28 victory over Front Range Christian on the road. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 22-0.
Keenan Winnerman was on fire: he scored 31 points along with eight rebounds and six steals. Another player making a difference was Lev Friedman, who scored 14 points along with seven assists and four steals.
Despite the loss, Front Range Christian saw an underclassman step up: Cooper Terpstra scored five points along with nine rebounds. Zach Woo was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
Denver Jewish Day pushed their record up to 1-0 with that win, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.0 points per game. As for Front Range Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Denver Jewish Day will take on Pikes Peak Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Pikes Peak Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 36 on Saturday. As for Front Range Christian, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Golden View Classical Academy at 7:00 p.m. Golden View Classical Academy presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Front Range Christian in Colorado (Golden View Classical Academy is ranked 119th, while Front Range Christian is ranked 290th).
