Basketball Recap: Chesapeake Math & IT Academy South Takes a Loss

Chesapeake Math & IT Academy South lost against Gwynn Park back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Chesapeake Math & IT Academy South Tigers were dealt a 69-17 loss at the hands of the Gwynn Park Yellowjackets. The Tigers were down 41-15 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Maya Pitts continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Gwynn Park, dropping a double-double with 32 points and 11 steals. Pitts' evening made it six games in a row in which she has scored at least 19 points. Oliyah Contee was another key player, putting up 15 points in addition to eight steals and four blocks.

Chesapeake Math & IT Academy South's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Gwynn Park, the win (which was their 11th in a row) raised their record to 15-4.

Chesapeake Math & IT Academy South has already played their next game (against College Park Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Gwynn Park, they will welcome Douglass at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
