            Baseball Recap: Elk Grove Thundering Herd vs. Davis Sr. Blue Devils        
        
		
        
        
            Elk Grove won the last time they faced Davis Sr. and things went their way  on Tuesday too. The Elk Grove Thundering Herd narrowly escaped with a  victory as the  squad sidled past the Davis Sr. Blue Devils  7-5. The  win made it back-to-back  victories for the Thundering Herd.

 Cooper Gannon
 Cooper Gannon tossed a big game,   tossing five innings while giving up just two earned  (and two unearned) runs off   six  hits. He also  tossed  no  walks, which is notable because Elk Grove is 2-1 when he allows at  most  one  walk, but 1-2 otherwise.
 At the plate,  Brent Martin was  excellent,  going 1-for-4 with one  triple, two  RBI,  and one  run.  Matt Soares was another key player,  scoring a  run while going 3-for-4.
The  win  got Elk Grove back to even at 3-3. As for Davis Sr., they now  have a losing record of 2-3-1.
 Both  teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Elk Grove will take on McClatchy at 4:00  p.m.  on Thursday. McClatchy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8  runs per game  this season. As for Davis Sr., they will square off against Folsom at 4:00  p.m.  on Monday. Davis Sr.'s pitching crew has only allowed three  runs per game  this season, so Folsom's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
