Softball Recap: Five Straight Road Victories for Dora

Dora entered their tilt with Holly Pond on Friday with two consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with three. They walked away with a 7-2 victory over the Holly Pond Broncos.

Ada Nix made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off seven hits. Those nine strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.

Nix wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Aviana Goodmon, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2.

Dora's win was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.6 runs on average over those games. As for Holly Pond, they are on a 16-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.

We've got a battle between Bulldogs coming up. Dora is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.7 runs per game this season. As for Holly Pond, they will take on Pennington at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
