Basketball Game Preview: Cary Imps vs. Middle Creek Mustangs

The Cary Imps will square off against the Middle Creek Mustangs at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Two weeks ago, Cary was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 40-34 to Franklinton. The Imps have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, the third road game was the charm for Middle Creek, as they earned their first road win of the season. They pulled ahead with a 49-48 photo finish over Nash Central on Saturday.

Cary better keep an eye on Alysia Pergerson. She was instrumental in Middle Creek's win, going 12 of 23 on her way to 32 points and four steals. Those 32 points gave Pergerson a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Sarah Grace Furst, who posted four points along with eight rebounds and six steals.

Middle Creek's win bumped their record up to 4-7. As for Cary, they now have a losing record at 5-6.

Cary came up short against Middle Creek in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, falling 44-35. Can Cary avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
