Deltona hadn't done well against New Smyrna Beach recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The dominant performance gave Cunningham a new career-high in RBI. Kenny Dozier was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

Deltona has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 4-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. This is the second loss in a row for New Smyrna Beach and nudges their season record down to 8-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Deltona will take on Horizon in a tournament on Monday. Deltona will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last. As for New Smyrna Beach, they will square off against Satellite at 11:00 a.m. on Monday.
