Basketball Recap: Monticello Comes Up Short

Monticello was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 19th straight defeat dating back to last season. They fell 51-43 to the Black Hawk Warriors. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Warriors this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 50-37 back in December of 2025.

Monticello's loss dropped their record down to 0-14. As for Black Hawk, their victory bumped their record up to 4-11.

Monticello wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 49-42 defeat against Orangeville on the 31st. As for Black Hawk, they will face off against Juda at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The Warriors will be up against the Panthers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 56.36 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
