Volleyball Recap: St. Augustine Triumphs

While St. Augustine's win against Spruce Creek wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Yellow Jackets had just enough and edged out the Hawks 3-2 on Wednesday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 on April 1st.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day St. Augustine got the one that really mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 20-25, 25-17, 17-25, 15-5.

St. Augustine can attribute much of their success to Tanveen Hossain, who had 17 digs. Those 17 digs gave Hossain a new career-high.

St. Augustine is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-9 record this season. As for Spruce Creek, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season.

St. Augustine does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Spruce Creek, they will square off against West Port at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
