Cypress Lakes triumphant thanks to a strong effort from Aniah Alexis

Recap: Cypress Lakes Spartans vs. Langham Creek Lobos

The Cypress Lakes Spartans entered their tilt with the Langham Creek Lobos with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Cypress Lakes had just enough and edged Langham Creek out 65-63. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.

Aniah Alexis continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 42 points and 13 rebounds. That makes it 25 consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Cypress Lakes' points. The team also got some help courtesy of Makennah Alexis, who scored 20 points along with six rebounds and six steals.

Despite the loss, Langham Creek still got an impressive performance from Heather Baymon, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 11 rebounds. That was a full 39.7% of Langham Creek's points, marking the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Envy Jackson, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds and three steals.

Even though they lost, Langham Creek were working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. This was only their first loss (out of 12 games) when they've passed the ball that well.

Cypress Lakes' win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 22-10. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.5 points per game. As for Langham Creek, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 28-5.

Cypress Lakes does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Langham Creek also has no future games currently scheduled.
