Baseball Game Preview: Arizona Lutheran Academy Coyotes vs. Horizon Honors Eagles

Arizona Lutheran Academy is 1-6 against Horizon Honors since March of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Coyotes will look to defend their home field against the Eagles at 6:30 p.m. Arizona Lutheran Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8 runs per game this season.

Arizona Lutheran Academy is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 15 runs on Monday, they were much more limited against Veritas Prep on Wednesday. They fell 6-2 to the Falcons.

Arizona Lutheran Academy saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Eoghan Hill, who went 1-for-2 with two runs. Hill has become a key player for the Coyotes: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 7-9 otherwise.

Meanwhile, Horizon Honors waltzed into their match on Thursday with five straight wins... but they left with six. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Lightning a 3-0 shutout.

Not much got past Zach Hull, who gave up just two hits and racked up 12 Ks to keep Lincoln Prep off the board. Hull has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances.

Horizon Honors pushed their record up to 14-4-1 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Arizona Lutheran Academy, they now have a losing record of 9-10.

Both Arizona Lutheran Academy and Horizon Honors just can't seem to miss. The Coyotes have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.3 hits per game. However, it's not like Horizon Honors struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 4.8 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
