The Hayesville Yellowjackets will head out on the road to take on the Smoky Mountain Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hayesville is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.8 runs per game this season.

Hayesville came up short against Franklin on Wednesday, falling 11-5.

Kendall Boyer was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off five hits. Boyer was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-1.

Boyer wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Ben Bethel, who went 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Smoky Mountain made easy work of Hendersonville on Thursday and carried off an 18-7 win. Considering the Mustangs have won seven matchups by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Smoky Mountain's victory bumped their record up to 9-4. As for Hayesville, their loss dropped their record down to 7-5.
