Football Recap: Salem Comes Up Short on the Road Against North Harrison

Salem kicked off their season on the road on Friday and hit a couple of potholes. They took a 27-15 hit to the loss column at the hands of the North Harrison Cougars. The Lions were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cougars apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in August of 2024.

Bryce Fessel had an outrageously good game for North Harrison as he rushed for 286 yards and two scores while picking up 9.2 yards per carry. Fessel didn't just play on offense: he also forced one fumble, made 16 total tackles, and defended two passes in addition to snagging an interception. Caden Hoehn was in the mix as well, providing North Harrison with two touchdowns.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Salem is set to face off against their familiar foe Silver Creek at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, North Harrison will square off against rival Scottsburg at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
