Judson is a perfect 5-0 against San Marcos since September of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Rockets will look to defend their home field against the Rattlers at 7:30 p.m. Judson has given up an average of 33 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Judson is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against Steele on Thursday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Meanwhile, San Marcos was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 28-24 to East Central. The Rattlers were up 21 in the second, but they couldn't quite seal the deal.

Judson will need to focus on slowing down Frans Steyn, one of several San Marcos players who made an impact when they last played. He rushed for 94 yards and one touchdown on only ten carries, and also threw for 254 yards and one TD. Another player making a difference was Justin Tardy, who rushed for 124 yards and one score on only seven carries.

San Marcos' loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 4-3. As for Judson, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4.

Friday's game will pit two of the most dominant backs against one another: Kayden Graham and Tardy. Graham just won't slow down this season and has averaged 82.3 rushing yards per game. Tardy has been a dominant force too and has run in 6 touchdowns while averaging 103.6 rushing yards per game.

Everything came up roses for Judson against San Marcos in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 55-3 victory. In that contest, the Rockets amassed a halftime lead of 48-0, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
