Basketball Recap: Ridgevue Takes a Loss

Ridgevue fought the good fight in their overtime game against Kuna on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 73-65 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Kuna Kavemen. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Thursday (59), the Warhawks still had to take the loss.

Despite the loss, Ridgevue still got an impressive performance from Myra Martinez, who went 10 for 24 on her way to 33 points. The dominant performance gave Martinez a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Hollund Miller, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and ten rebounds.

Ridgevue's defeat dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Kuna, their record now sits at 3-5.

The future could be bright for both Ridgevue and Kuna: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. Ridgevue will try to hand Meridian their seventh-straight loss when the two meet at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Kuna will try to hand Mountain View their fourth-straight defeat when the two meet at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
