Softball Recap: Warren Triumphs

Warren picked up another tournament win on Saturday. They skirted past the San Pedro Pirates 7-5. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bears.

Vivi Navarrete spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned runs on seven hits.

On the hitting side, Warren let Destiny Sanchez and Kaylee Rangel run wild. Sanchez went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI, while Rangel went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Those two hits gave Sanchez a new career-high. Hailey Hernandez was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Warren's record now sits at 13-7. As for San Pedro, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last nine contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season.

Warren will take on Legacy in a tournament on Saturday. As for San Pedro, they are taking a road trip to face off against Banning at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. The Pirates' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Pilots have averaged an impressive 7.2 runs per game this season.
