Baseball Game Preview: Mission Valley Vikings vs. Rossville Bulldogs

The Mission Valley Vikings will challenge the Rossville Bulldogs on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Mission Valley 1.6, Rossville 3.2) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Rossville will be up against a hot Mission Valley team: the squad just extended their winning streak to four. The Vikings were the clear victors by a 16-1 margin over Chase County on Thursday. The result was nothing new for the Vikings, who have now won nine matches by ten runs or more so far this season.

Rossville hadn't beaten Sabetha on the road since May 6, 2021 but that history sure didn't bother them on Thursday. The Bulldogs narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Bluejays 6-5.

Mission Valley's win was their 18th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-2-2. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Rossville, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-6 record this season.
