Baseball Recap: Canterbury Find Success

Canterbury proved they can win big last Thursday (they won by 13) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Keswick Christian, sneaking past 4-2. The win continues a trend for Canterbury in their matchups with Keswick Christian: they've now won three in a row.

Gabriel Blaxberg made a big impact no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over 6.2 innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than nine strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run.

In other batting news, Tyler Woodward was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Ian Robinson, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI.

Canterbury's record is now 10-4. As for Keswick Christian, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-11.

Canterbury does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Keswick Christian, they will face off against Cambridge Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
