Volleyball Recap: Portland Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Portland extended their losing streak to nine on Friday, dropping them down to 1-15. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Coginchaug Regional Blue Devils. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Blue Devils this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.

Portland's offense was headlined by Molly Reilly and Rowyn Kootz, who picked up eight kills apiece. They got some help from Riley Flaum and her six assists. Vivian Letitia controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.

As for Coginchaug Regional, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-13. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 0-15 Haddam-Killingworth and 1-15 Portland.

Coginchaug Regional's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Cecelia Wilson, who had six aces and three digs.

Portland has already played their next matchup (against Haddam-Killingworth), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Coginchaug Regional also has no score uploaded for their next match, this one against East Hampton.
