Baseball Recap: Bishop McLaughlin Catholic Find Success

The Bishop McLaughlin Catholic Hurricanes sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 win over the Countryside Cougars on Thursday.

Armando Persia looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Bishop McLaughlin Catholic's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Owen Anderson, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run. Bradon Savarese also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Bishop McLaughlin Catholic now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Countryside, their record now sits at an identical 3-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Bishop McLaughlin Catholic will square off against Northside Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Mustangs will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last. As for Countryside, they will challenge Northeast at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
