Softball Recap: Cherokee Extends Winning Streak to Four

With a playoff win on the line, Cherokee rose to the challenge on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 9-1 margin over the Central Regional Golden Eagles. The result was nothing new for the Chiefs, who have now won seven contests by six runs or more so far this season.

The win (which was Cherokee's fourth in a row) raised their record to 16-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Central Regional, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last 12 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-15 record this season.

Cherokee didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 5-4 defeat against Southern Regional on the 30th. Central Regional does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
