Boonton kicked off their season on the road on Thursday and hit a couple of potholes. They suffered a rough 46-21 defeat at the hands of Hanover Park. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Boonton in their matchups with Hanover Park: they've now lost three in a row.
Meanwhile, the stars were shining brightly for Morris Catholic in a 65-46 victory over Ewing on Sunday.
Morris Catholic's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Mia Pauldo, who scored 17 points along with five assists and three steals. The match was Pauldo's third in a row with at least ten points. Tatianna Collins was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds.
Boonton's defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Morris Catholic, their win bumped their record up to 3-0.
Boonton took a serious blow against Morris Catholic in their previous meeting back in February, falling 89-57. The game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Boonton was down 50-20.
