Basketball Game Preview: Mount Dora Hurricanes vs. East Ridge Knights

The Mount Dora Hurricanes will challenge the East Ridge Knights at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both have had a bumpy ride up to this point with eight consecutive losses for Mount Dora and three for East Ridge.

Mount Dora is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Orlando Christian Prep on Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Mount Dora came up short against Orlando Christian Prep, falling 65-41. The Hurricanes were down 47-24 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Meanwhile, East Ridge was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Tuesday as they fell 71-66 to Trinity Christian Academy. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Friday (56), the Knights still had to take the loss.

Mount Dora's defeat dropped their record down to 3-13. As for East Ridge, their loss dropped their record down to 5-12.

Everything went Mount Dora's way against East Ridge in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, as Mount Dora made off with a 77-57 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Mount Dora since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
