Baseball Game Preview: Speedway Sparkplugs vs. Indianapolis Cardinal Ritter Raiders

For the second straight game, Speedway will face off against Indianapolis Cardinal Ritter. The Sparkplugs will be playing at home against the Raiders at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Someone's luck will take a turn for the better: Speedway has lost five straight at home , while Indianapolis Cardinal Ritter has lost 11 on the road (dating back to last season).

Speedway played in-conference for the first time on Tuesday and got just the result they were looking for. They blew past Indianapolis Cardinal Ritter 10-2. The Sparkplugs not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 14th (when they won 17-1).

Bradley Howard spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on two hits and racked up 14 Ks.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Logan Moore, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and two doubles. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Gage Beiswinger, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Speedway was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .406. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive contests.

Indianapolis Cardinal Ritter's defeat dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Speedway, their win bumped their record up to 3-12-1.
