Football Game Preview: Culver City Centaurs vs. Palos Verdes Sea Kings + How To Watch

For the first time this season, Culver City will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will head out to square off against the Palos Verdes Sea Kings at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. That matchup will pit two of the most dominant signal callers against one another: Nicholas Hoang and Ryan Rakowski.

Culver City is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Notre Dame (SO) on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Centaurs had to suffer through a 57-14 loss at the hands of the Knights. The Centaurs were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-7.

Meanwhile, while Palos Verdes put up plenty of points last Friday, the same can't be said for Banning. The Sea Kings blew past the Pilots 52-0. That looming 52-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Sea Kings yet this season.

Palos Verdes' win came from a few key players Culver City will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Morley Boyd, who picked up 130 receiving yards and one score. He showed off some serious burst, cutting upfield on a catch for 62 yards. Jalen Flowers also helped with two TDs in total.

Palos Verdes didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Flowers, Christian Reis, Travis Tomaro, and Joseph Sarmiento picked up one apiece. Sarmiento got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Palos Verdes now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Culver City, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 3-2.

Culver City came out on top in a nail-biter against Palos Verdes in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, sneaking past 21-18. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Centaurs since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
