Soccer Game Preview: South Caldwell vs. Ashe County

The South Caldwell Spartans will head out to take on the Ashe County Huskies at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.

South Caldwell came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against Alexander Central, falling 3-0. The game was a close 1-0 at the break, but unfortunately for South Caldwell it sure didn't stay that way.

Meanwhile, Ashe County gave up the first goal on Wednesday, but they didn't let that get them down. They put the hurt on Freedom with a sharp 5-2 win. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for Ashe County's offense, which had struggled in the games prior.

South Caldwell's defeat dropped their record down to 7-4-1. As for Ashe County, their victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 5-2-1.

South Caldwell couldn't quite get it done against Ashe County in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 as they fell 2-0. Can the Spartans avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
