Softball Recap: North Penn-Liberty Comes Up Short

North Penn-Liberty was the 3-2 winner over Troy when they last played one another back in March, but their luck changed this time around. The Mountie might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 4-2 to the Trojans, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Mountie have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Elyna Booth spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on seven hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, North Penn-Liberty saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kaylee Graham, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double. That double was Graham's first of the season.

North Penn-Liberty's defeat dropped their record down to 9-3. As for Troy, they pushed their record up to 7-4 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Coming up, North Penn-Liberty will face off against Hughesville at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Mountie will need to watch out since the Spartans have now posted at least ten runs in their last three matchups. As for Troy, they are taking a road trip to face off against Liberty at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
