Heights hasn't had much luck against Dodge City recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Falcons will head out to square off against the Demons at 4:00 p.m. Heights is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.2 runs per game this season.
Heights is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on West with a sharp 23-8 victory on Tuesday. That's two games straight that the Falcons have won by exactly 15 runs.
Hayden Wettstein was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four runs, and two stolen bases. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April. Anabel Entwisle also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Heights kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Dodge City earned a 19-15 win over South on Thursday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Demons.
Macy Musslin made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over 5.2 innings pitched. Musslin was also big at the plate, going 3-for-6 with four RBI, two doubles, and one triple.
In other batting news, Tatum Steiner was a standout: she went 3-for-5 with one home run, five runs, and four RBI. Another player making a difference was Kenadie Thompson, who went 4-for-6 with four runs, one triple, and one stolen base.
Heights' record is now 4-10. As for Dodge City, their record now sits at 2-16.
Heights' speedy runners might be the difference in Friday's matchup. The Falcons have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.9 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Dodge City, though, as they've been averaging only 1.1 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Heights continue to outrun the ball?
Heights suffered a grim 15-1 defeat to Dodge City when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Can the Falcons avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
