Softball Recap: Osbourn's Luck Changes for the Better on Wednesday

Osbourn's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They blew past the Mount Vernon Majors 13-4. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Eagles as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

MacKenzie Fitterer spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and three unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up seven Ks. Those hits marked the first that she allowed this season.

On the hitting side, Osbourn got a massive performance out of Tristyn Kershner, who scored three runs while going 2-for-5. Another player making a difference was Cailynn White, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI.

Osbourn's record now sits at 3-4. As for Mount Vernon, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 3-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Osbourn will host Freedom at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Mount Vernon, they will welcome Hayfield at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
