Recap: Linden Lions vs. Grant Pacers
It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Linden Lions can now relate to. They were beaten by Grant 82-7 on Friday. Linden's loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.
Matthew Schallberger threw for 109 yards on 12 of 30 attempts. Deandre Smith was his top target, picking up 55 receiving yards.
Leading Grant to victory were Luke Alexander and Wayshawn Parker. Alexander threw for 343 yards and six touchdowns while completing 78.9% of his passes, while Parker gained 236 total yards and three touchdowns. Parker is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last three games he's played. Kingston Lopa was another key contributor, picking up 145 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
Linden's defeat dropped their record down to 9-3. As for Grant, their win was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-2.
Linden does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Grant will face off against Oakdale at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
