Softball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Ross

Ross extended their winning streak to three on Monday, bumping their season record up to 10-3 in the process. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Mount Notre Dame, sneaking past 3-1. This was payback for the Rams, who suffered an 8-6 loss the last time these two teams met.

Paige Baker made a big impact no matter where she played. She tossed seven innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in seven consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one run and one RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in May of 2024.

Baker wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Kam Commins, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

As for Mount Notre Dame, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-4. Having soared to a lofty 12 runs in the game before, they couldn't push the score so high this time.

On Mount Notre Dame's side, Audrey Gildea spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up six Ks.

At the plate, McKenna Manley was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two doubles and one run.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ross will square off against Bellbrook at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Mount Notre Dame, they will take on Mercy McAuley at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
