Madison West hadn't done well against Janesville Craig recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Regents came out on top in a nail-biter against the Cougars, sneaking past 3-1. This was a revenge game for the Regents: when they faced off against the Cougars last Tuesday, they had to take a 3-2 defeat.

Ahren Dawson tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out six over 6.1 innings pitched.

At the plate, Madison West's win was truly a team effort as two different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Cadel Donovan, who went 1-for-3 with one double. That double was Donovan's first of the season.

Madison West's victory bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Janesville Craig, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Madison West will face off against Madison La Follette at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Regents are facing the Lancers at the right time seeing as the Lancers are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Janesville Craig, they will take on Verona at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
