Basketball Recap: Briggs Takes a Loss

Briggs managed to keep up with Eastmoor Academy until halftime on Tuesday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Briggs Bruins took a blow against the Eastmoor Academy Warriors, falling 65-38. The Bruins were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Warriors earlier this season, when they won 39-32.

Briggs' loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Te'Asia Ray, who went 8 of 18 en route to 19 points and six rebounds, and Mali Woods-Laws, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten boards. Ray is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for four straight games.

Briggs has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-10 record this season. As for Eastmoor Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-10 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Briggs has already played their next match (against Marion-Franklin), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Eastmoor Academy and Groveport-Madison will face off at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday without much rest having both just played.
