Softball Recap: Saturday's Loss Ends Mishawaka's Winning Streak

Mishawaka dropped their record down to 17-6 on Saturday, which also ended the team's six-game streak of wins. They fell 10-7 to the Elkhart Lions. The Cavemen were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lions apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

As for Elkhart, they now have a winning record of 12-11. The win was familiar territory for they, who have now won four matches in a row.

For Elkhart's part, the team relied heavily on Addison Reid, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases Reid has posted over her last 12 games. Another player making a difference was Bailey Harris-Rogers, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Looking ahead, Mishawaka will head out to square off against Northridge at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Cavemen's pitchers better be ready for this one: the Raiders have averaged an impressive 8 runs per game this season. As for Elkhart, they will be playing in front of their home fans against South Bend Adams at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in the Lions' favor as the team sits on three straight wins at home while the Eagles have been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.
