Basketball Recap: Winthrop Comes Up Short

After flying high against Richmond last Wednesday, Winthrop came back down to earth. The Winthrop Ramblers fell just short of the Old Orchard Beach Seagulls by a score of 45-43 on Tuesday. The Ramblers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Seagulls earlier this season, when they won 59-54.

Winthrop's defeat dropped their record down to 9-8. As for Old Orchard Beach, their record now sits at 6-9.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Winthrop will welcome Waterville at 6:30 p.m. on February 6th. As for Old Orchard Beach, they will host Poland at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
