Mountain Heritage is a perfect 4-0 against West Henderson since November of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Cougars will head out to face off against the Falcons at 6:00 p.m. Mountain Heritage will be strutting in after a victory while West Henderson will be coming in after a defeat.

While Cougars fans will have to keep waiting for their squad to come home, they shouldn't be too worried about the road trip considering the result of Tuesday's season opener. They skirted past Watauga 50-48. The game was the first time the Cougars have beaten the Pioneers on their court since November 26, 2019.

Mountain Heritage's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Layla Worley, who posted 16 points along with six steals and five rebounds. Kiana Adams was another key player, putting up ten points and seven boards.

Meanwhile, West Henderson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss dating back to last season. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 55-49 heartbreaker at the hands of Erwin. The game was a 19-19 toss-up at halftime, but the Falcons couldn't quite close it out.

Mountain Heritage skirted past West Henderson 57-54 when the teams last played back in December of 2024. Will the Cougars repeat their success, or do the Falcons have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
