Recap: Erwin Warriors vs. Avery County Vikings
After losing to the Avery County Vikings the last time they met, the Erwin Warriors decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Erwin secured a 52-46 W over Avery County on Friday. The win made it back-to-back wins for Erwin.
Despite the loss, Avery County saw an underclassman step up: Caroline Hollifield scored 18 points along with 5 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Reagan Greer, who scored 9 points along with 7 rebounds.
Erwin now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Avery County, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Erwin will take on R-S Central at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Avery County, they will be playing at home against McDowell at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
